Well, this explains a lot

You know, I usually dismiss any news item that quotes a “recent study.”  But this one has some merit.  A recent study found that “men who spend even a few minutes in the company of an attractive woman perform less well in tests designed to measure brain function than those who chat to someone they do not find attractive.”

In other words, men get dumb around pretty women.

Some other fun quotes from the article:

“We conclude men’s cognitive functioning may temporarily decline after an interaction with an attractive woman.”

I can see somebody using the pick-up line “Wow, you’re so pretty, I feel my cognitive functioning temporarily declining.”

“When a man meets a pretty woman, he is what we call ‘reproductively focused’.”

Talk about stating the obvious.

I guess this explains why men seem to change while watching football:
– First, we’re watching the modern-day equivalent of gladiatorial games, which were originally designed to placate the masses.
– Second, we tend to eat less-than-nutritionally-sound food during the game, which can’t help our mental faculties.
– Rounding out the trifecta, they intersperse the action with shots of cheerleaders, which makes us dumb, and leads to more football watching.

It’s the Neanderthal death-spiral.

But boy am I glad football season is back.

If this is true, you must be getting a little “dumber” each day with K around. Hmmmmm.
    Sounds good to me K.

Well, I guess this explains why your dad was always so….er….”dumb”???? He started out life with your mom, then God sent his second wife….and that’s the end of the story!!

I agree with “quotation mark” in that your mind must never be in gear with K around all the time. Glad your dad sends this to us. It is a hoot.
