Why our Christmas letter is delayed

K, being a forward thinking, get-it-done type of person, started addressing, labeling and applying stamps to our Christmas letter fairly early this year.  She was especially proud of pre-ordering Christmas themed stamps.

As an aside, is requiring Christmas-themed stamps on Christmas cards/letters a female thing?  I don’t think I’ve ever noticed the stamps that come on others’ cards.  But for her, it’s a have to thing.  I don’t get it.  But I digress.

Here’s a shot of her stack of envelopes on which she’s been working:

Here’s a close-up of one of the envelopes:

Notice anything?  Keen-eyed  and current-events-aware readers may be wondering why there is a 42¢ stamp on the envelope, when the current first class postage is 44¢.  Well, apparently, K was so excited about ordering Christmas-themed stamps that she neglected to check to see what the current first class stamp postage was, and ordered the stamp that she thought were the most visually appealing.

Here a shot of her opeing a package today:

And what could be in this package, you ask?

I shall be enjoying this one for a while.

This is why I wait until the last minute. It’s much more efficient that way.
