Uniformity

In about a month, the kids will be starting kindergarten. Aside from the simple fact that they will be STARTING KINDERGARTEN, I’m slightly out of whack about the whole uniform thing. You see, the kids’ school requires uniforms.  To all-girls-Catholic-high-school-attending K, this is simply a way of life.

Not so much with me.

So K held my hand while we went uniform shopping for the kids.  She was practically, well, giddy as a school girl during the experience.

I, however, was slightly dumbfounded by the whole process.  Entire new words and phrases and expletives were introduced into my lexicon, like “jumper” and “black-watch” and …

… “that-little-scrap-of-cloth-cost-how-much?”

That’s like going sock shopping with Mr. CPQ. Everything looks the same and is expensive.

    $14 for dress socks?????

    Outrageous.

Wow. A picture of you. Boy do I hate shopping. But just think how easy it’ll be to “pick out” what they’ll wear in the mornings. (ca-ching $)
