Open House

We went to an open house for the kids’ school last night.  It was helpful to get the kids a little more acclimated to the specifics of their new school, like where their class will be, where the gym is, and, most importantly, how to use the push-down handles on the sinks in the bathrooms.

They were a little intimidated by the crowd. But the proper application of dessert-type food helped.

A was very interested in which classroom would be hers.  J was more interested in finding the bathroom.

A snuck into an open library door. Such the rule-breaker.

But I think the highlight of the evening was a conversation K had with another mother from the school.  Since this is a private Christian school, the typical family is fairly, “traditional” shall we say.  K and this woman introduced themselves, talked a little about the kids, etc.  Then the woman asked K:

“So, what does your husband do for a living?”

I just wish I could have gotten that conversation on video.

K most likely said, where do I start……

After the response to “for a living” part of the question…I emagine K’s “rest of the story” was “Anything I want him to do.”…..right?
