Halloween Weekend Recap

As you may recall from last year’s Halloween post, I tend to go a little overboard for our annual Sunday School class Halloween party.  Last Saturday’s party was no different.  But since most of the decorations were the same as last year, I won’t bore you with more of the same images/videos.  But some specifics from this year include:

A was Batgirl, complete with bat-attitude

For the third year in a row, J went as a cowboy. We offered to get him a new costume many times, but he refused. I guess eventually he'll outgrow this costume, literally and figuratively.

J, A, and their good friend T plot to get more candy. Well, at least A and T do. J still doesn't do candy, which makes the whole "trick or treat" thing a little anticlimactic for him, I guess.

K bucked the whole "naughty (insert normal character name)" trend with this lovely ensemble.

This just made me laugh.

As did this. In case you're wondering, she's on the phone.

I, of course, continued last year’s trend and went as one of my favorite food icons.

Did I mention that Nana is really good at sewing costumes on 4 days notice?

Nana is also great at making ghost cookies

A good time was had by all.

On Sunday,  K took the kids to trick or treat at their good friend T’s house, just as they have for the past several years. Given my job, however, I needed to work at our church’s Trunk or Treat event.

The Cap'n also made an appearance at Trunk or Treat. Here he is posing with my dad.

At this event, we had an estimated 1200 people in attendance, provided 700 meals, and gave out 10,000 pieces of candy.

And, as always, it’s not a party without bouncy houses.

“Cabana girl”….now that is an idea….as they say “wait ’til next year. Speaking of baseball, you dad has a really nice bat.
And K, your “enhanced” figure/costume doth become you. But just stick with what you got.
Watch out for the kids “plotting.” I’ll only get more sophisticated as they they get older….and there will be boys and girls (and vice versa) involved then. Now where were those hiding places?
